Description

You are bidding for a First Edition of the Classic Led Zeppelin Album – Led Zeppelin III

This is the original Atlantic Deluxe pressing, and comes complete with the rotating wheel / picture window front cover - later versions did not include this feature.

OK – for all you serious and knowledgeable record collectors out there I have a mixed story to tell:

  • This is definitely a first edition, as I remember taking the train to Windows in Newcastle to buy the album the morning it was released.

  • It has mystical engravings in the run off section in the pressing:

    • Side 1 – do what thou wilt 2401002 A7 epl

    • Side 2 – so mote it be 2401002 B7 ghk

  • It is the original cover, with the rotating wheel and cut out windows.

  • The wheel still rotates and displays the magical pictures!

  • The gatefold sleeve is in very good condition.

  • But - as was the fashion in those days, I protected the edges of the album with sellotape, and this is still on, and a little discoloured in places.

  • The vinyl is in very good condition, there are some light marks on the playing surface, but none that adversely affect the sound.

This LP was bought by me in 1970 and has been in my collection ever since.

I will post the record in a purpose-made vinyl album mailer.

Here is your chance to rediscover your youth, or make an investment – either way,

Happy Bidding!!
