Description

An original 1st press of Zep II on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A2/B2. Please note the labels hold the incorrect name for track 2 on side 2 "Livin' Lovin' WRECK". These are thought to be amongst the very 1st copies of Zep II ever to roll off the press. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original light-brown gatefold cover. There is some light fade on the spine and the brown section appears green in colour. Don't pay any attention to moronic sellers on E-Bay who think that this is some kind of "special print-run, or amazing rarity" - IT IS JUST LIGHT FADE!! Also included is the original plastic bag warning inner sleeve date-coded to October 1969 [109] - the 1st month of release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) Still in very nice condition, but has seen a moderate level of use and exhibits one or two issues. There are a few marks either side - one or two of which are getting feelable and cause the odd issue [detailed below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with two deviations. Intros and inbetweens are reasonably quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. This LP will be of most interest to an individual who particularly appreciates the historical aspect and collectability of this Lp. The audio standard is very nice for the most part...these early red & plum records rock like no other version. Do expect the odd crackle and pop in the odd isolated moment, but by and large a reasonably clean solid performance. The two issues....1) Whole Lotta Love...one mark in this tracks causes a couple of pops and a brief non-repeating skip in which you lose one word of dialogue. 2) A mark at the start of 'Heartbreaker' renders the whole of the 1st line of the song inaudible - the skip literally eradicates the first line and the vocal starts on line 2 of the song. Hope that makes sense! Ask me if it confuses you.... 
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and Zep II is a particularly tricky cover to find in a good state of preservation. Nice clean front with no overtly obvious markings and a crease in the bottom right corner. The back is in similar condition and has escaped the usual heavy ring wear. The interior is in excellent condition. There's the usual edge wear that you find on these Zep II covers, but the spine is in better condition than many examples. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and has survived the years well.
Inner (Vg) Light ageing and two side splits - three inches.
