Description

An original 1st press of Zep III on the UK Red & Plum Atlantic label. Matrix A5/B5 - 1st cut. Please note labels still hold mention of "Peter Grant" and these are widely acknowledged to be the very 1st press copies. The vinyl comes housed in an original spinning-wheel deluxe cover printed by E J Day. Also included is the original plastic bag warning inner sleeve date coded to the summer of 1970 [0770] - just a couple of months prior to 1st release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks each side - nothing remotely troublesome.  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. These early red & plum have a habit of delivering the goods on the audio side - and this example is no exception. Big bold and powerful sound, but nuanced and clean even in the quiet slow-build sections. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side, and perhaps one click in 'Gallows Pole'. It is a supremely good rendition and will not leave you disappointed. 
Cover (Ex-) This example fairs better than most that tend to surface. Lovely clean front with only one crease apparent and it also seems to have largely avoided the ageing process - just one blemish down in the bottom left-corner. The rear looks great too and doesn't seem to be suffering the laminate creasing on the rear which is very common. Please note there is a small stain down in the bottom right corner - it isn't shadow! The spinning wheel is intact and fully operational. The interior is pretty much immaculate. Edge wear is light and the text on the spine is still legible. Very nice indeed!
Inner (Ex-) Light ageing, but no spits.
