Description
I’m selling off some of my cherished vinyl, all well-kept, stored properly, in a laminated protective outer sleeve in a smoke & pet-free environment and always played on audiophile equipment.
This is my UK original Atlantic pressing of the classic ‘Led Zeppelin III’, purchased upon the album’s release in 1970 and having the "Peter Grant - Executive Producer" credit on both labels.
It has a fully laminated, front die-cut, gatefold sleeve in superb condition with the movable pictorial cog perfectly intact and working. There is a slight thin laminate lift line on the rear cover image (accentuated on one of the flash photos!) but this does not detract from the overall excellent sleeve condition. It comes with its original polythene-lined company inner sleeve - which is in fine condition with barely any marks or wear showing.
The record has the red & maroon UK Atlantic label & A-6/ B-6 matrix stampers, along with ‘1 1’ on Side 1, and ‘1 2 1 0’ stamped on Side 2. "Do What Thou Wilt" is hand-etched in the run-out groove of Side 1, and "So Mote It Be" is hand-etched on Side 2. It is a genuine UK 1st pressing!
The vinyl is excellent too; a faint surface radial mark exists on part of Side Two - but this is not audible and the groove is undamaged. (I play my LPs on a £4k Roksan Xerxes 20 Plus Turntable).
The disc plays immaculately throughout, with barely a noise - even in-between tracks or on the quietest passages, like the slow, moody intro to the wonderful ‘Since I’ve Been Loving You’. The treble is crisp and clear; the bass is deep and strong. The labels are fine and show minimal spindle marks
You would be hard-pushed to find a better original first pressing of this LP and I am sure the buyer will be delighted with this copy. Grading adheres to “Record Collector” specifications and this copy is Excellent. I will dispatch using good quality LP mailer packaging with reinforcements.
