<<50th Anniversary>>
An original 1st press of IV on UK Red & Plum. Matrix A3/B4. Red & plum labels were only around for a couple of months before a wholesale re-design by Atlantic. There are various versions of this Red & Plum label - this is Not the 1st iteration by any means. But it does come from the period of release and early enough to still hold the MOUNTAIN TOP error. This track should read 'Hop'! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. We also have the original textured inner with 4 credits and external flips. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. If you need GREAT AUDIO  - you came a knockin' at the right door>>>
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of trace marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome.  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. The audio is fantastic and will wow you with resolution and energy. Many of these copies, however, have often been played to excess and the acoustic tracks suffer. Thankfully, this copy has only seen light careful use and is delivering a clean signal throughout. Even those super fussy acoustic tracks are playing clean - which is unusual. I'm thinking Stairway/Evermore/California... Stairway plays very clean indeed. In fact, I'd argue 8 out of 10 copies do not execute Stairway like this. Finishing on the titanic 'Levee' - love it. A couple of lowkey crackles in 'California' - minimal...and much less than you typically find. Very few genuine 1st pressings can manage a rendition like this due to the popularity of this title. A TOP LEVEL performer throughout. I'd love to say that there are lots of copies out there that hit this standard...BUT...
Cover (Ex-) Good to see Zep IV original surfaces looking clean and unaged. The interior looks good - no issues. Firm opening and solid opening panel. Minor edge wear in places, but better than typically tend to find. The spine is very nice indeed with just a touch of wear at the top and bottom. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very very fine specimen.
Inner (Ex-) Very nice clean and unmarked surfaces. A two inch bottom edge spit. Tape repaired internally - so it's a pretty minor cosmetic issue now.
