Description
In early 1972 Zep IV was reissued on the new 'orange and green' Atlantic label. Matrix A3/B4. Etching 'Porky & Pecko'. This is a transitional copy from that time - Q1 1972. How can we be sure of that date? Because the red and plum copies ended in Q1 1972 and this copy is definitively the 1st press from the new label. This is very obvious from a quick examination of the deadwax area. The old plum and red catalogue numbers and the new catalogue numbers are quoted...2401012 & K50008 have been stamped. The record comes housed in an original gatefold cover and also include is the original textured inner sleeve. Please note this copy holds the typo on the label 'Mountain Top'.
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely superb shape and has clearly only seen very light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of ultra light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with minimal interference. The audio is absolutely top-draw as mastered by Mr. George Peckham. We didn't detect more than a couple of the lightest crackles in a couple of spots the whole way through [literally].
Cover (Ex-) In nice condition and clearly been cared for. Just some light edge wear and certainly nothing noticeable. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and is in superb shape.
Inner (Ex-) A couple of small splits, but no ageing or markings.
