Led Zeppelin :  Self-Titled    LP    Atlantic SD 7208  (1971)   Stereo

This self-titled release is often referred to as "Led Zeppelin IV" (though "IV" does not appear anywhere) or the "Zoso" LP, referencing the mysterious symbols which appear on the labels and inner sleeve.

Original 1971 US pressing with gatefold jacket.  Richmond IN (Philips) plant pressing.

Includes original custom inner sleeve (with art work, lyrics and credits), in near mint condition.

Features iconic Zeppelin originals "Black Dog", "Misty Mountain Top", "When The Levee Breaks" and, of course, their epic classic "Stairway To Heaven".  Sandy Denny (of Fairport Convention and Richard Thompson Band) joins on "The Battle Of Evermore".

I got this piece in an estate sale together with several other LP's.

The wax was inside its original jacket, housed in its original custom inner paper sleeve, with both wax and inner sleeve appearing in "like new" condition.  Both the wax and the inner sleeve showed no signs of handling.      

The wax looks essentially flawless, like new.  Not even evidence of fingerprints nor a spindle mark.

Following my examination, I concluded that this wax has likely never been played.

Matrix numbers etched in the dead wax read:

Vinyl:  Like New

The wax looks "like new", appears unplayed.

Labels are essentially flawless, look like new.  No spindle marks.

Jacket:  VG

Gatefold jacket front and back color photos are rich and sharp.  Good gloss remains.

Inside jacket B&W image is rich and sharp as well, with high gloss.

Some rub wear present on jacket front, modest ring wear on back.

Some digs and small gouges on top seams.  Modest rub wear on bottom seams.  Light cracks on spine.

Otherwise, seams and spine are solid.  No seam splits.

Here find a rare original 1971 US pressing of Led Zeppelin's iconic self-titled fourth studio album, whose wax is pristine.  You will be very "hard pressed" to find an unsealed copy whose wax is equal.  A wonderful collectible and a stunning listen indeed.  Hoping this gem goes to a good home.
