Description

An original 1st issue of PG on the UK Swan label. Matrix A1/B5/C1/D1. Please note that the label design is consistent with 1st issue and does NOT show a Warners logo in the perimeter text. The vinyl comes housed in an original box design cover with 'Cullderstead' address on the rear. The internal white sheet track listing and credit is present. And so are both original inner sleeves. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of superficial marks per side, and one semi-feelable mark on side 4 which does sound [see details below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with two deviations. By and large a very impressive and clean player. If you want to hear PG like it was originally envisaged with super clarity and from a copy close to the original masters - then do seriously consider this example. Intros and inbetweens play really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. We detecting very little to take issue with. Even those quieter tracks or slow-build moments play with a really quiet background. The deviations are..In the opening moments of 'In the Light' - I could just pick out 4-5 very very low-level ticks. Very minor and would be barely noticeable but for the fact that this track has a low-key slow-build to it. Then, toward the end of 'The Wanton Song' the mark mentioned above causes roughly ten ticks...thankfully, this is in quite a manic section and doesn't stand out too much. You'll also get 4-5 ticks in the intro to 'Boogie With Stu' -which is caused by the same mark. If you can live with these aberrations the remainder of the LP is guaranteed to blow you way.
Cover (Vg+) Not quite up to the standard of the vinyl, but respectable. Front and back look clean with only lightest signs of wear. Take a look at the die-cut windows..there are no issues at all..nice! The only vague let down with this cover are the spines [which is typical!]. Both spines have faded, there's a fair bit of wear to both and do not expect to be able to make out any text. They have both worn-through right at the top for two centimetres - again, this is a common problem. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Insert (Ex-) In very nice condition and doesn't seem to have aged much. Just a touch grubby at the opening top edge. And a number "5" added in the bottom right corner.
Inners (Ex/Ex+) Borderline perfect. No splits. Very impressive!
