Description

An original 1st press from 1976 on UK Swan Song. Matrix A2/B3/C3/D3. Label layout is spot on for genuine 1st press. The vinyl comes housed in an original textured and embossed cover. This is the original cover with photo pages in the interior and mention of 'made in england' on the back page. The 1st copies arrived with quality back inner sleeves. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In marvellous condition and has only seen lightest use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very superficial markings per side, and one minor mark on S2 - nothing heavy or troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Don't short change yourself on this title. There are plenty of copies out there - but let me assure you that manufacturing quality is way better on the early copies. Plays with bags of energy and also a lovely quiet background for the lowkey moody sequences. Stairway & No QTR play clean with just a few very minor trace crackles in the quietest moments. The only vaguely detrimental thing I picked out was a few crackles and a couple of ticks early in the extended Dazed and Confused. Other than expect a superb clean rendition.
Cover (Ex/Ex-) In superb condition - very few copies will be looking this darn smart. That front surface is in impeccable condition with no signs of wear, ageing, or light fade. The rear is equally good and looking far far better than you typically find. The interior looks superb with no signs of use and the photo pages look great and haven't been heavily thumbed. PLEASE NOTE - on the left hand panel inside the cover there are a couple of perpendicular lines showing. After close inspection I'd say that these are print faults original to '76. Hardly any edge wear observable and sharp firm openings - which means it will look ace. The spine is fully intact with crease tramlines running down it [as would be impossible to avoid] Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Very little wear. No splits. A few fingerprint traces - as is difficult to avoid.
