Description
Artist: Lou Donaldson Title: Blues Walk Label/Number: Blue Note BLP-1593 (M) Jacket condition: VG+ Record condition: VG+ Notes: The cover is in nice condition with some light ring wear and some minor seam and corner wear detracting a little. The original owner rubber stamped his name on the top left corner of the back cover and also wrote "Recorded 7/28/1958" in small lettering towards the bottom right corner. As noted, the labels are 47 West 63rd versions and are in nice condition with a few light spindle marks on Side 2. The vinyl is bright and glossy but has enough light scuffs and scratches to lead me to grade it down some to VG+. Side 1 also has a pinhead sized flaw in the vinyl towards the end of Cut 2 ("Move"). It's a little brown spot that appears to have been manufactured into the vinyl. It causes a very light tick for a few revolutions. They are nearly inaudible but still need to be noted. The record plays very well with some occasional light surface noise. The classic music far and away predominates. Grading: Grading is usually only visual unless there are obvious problems that need to be checked out. I did play this one as noted above. I use Goldmine standards with Ebay's EX grade added for items NOT QUITE up to NM; but please read the notes above as I try to note anything that might influence the grading one way or another. I try to be conservative and grade as though I were buying the record and hope my feedback speaks well for my grading. Mono (M) or Stereo (S) is noted after catalog number. Don't hesitate to e-mail questions. Mailing and costs: Domestic shipping is via USPS, media mail with delivery confirmation. I ship in cardboard mailers made specifically for records with additional cardboard pads for added protection. Shipping and handling charges are a flat $4.00 for the first LP and $1.00 per additional LP. Overseas shipping on purchases under $100.00 may be sent by USPS First Class Mail International but I will upgrade at the buyer's request. Orders for more than $100.00 will need to be by Priority Mail International. This provides added protection for both the buyer and for me. The price will be the actual shipping costs plus $1.50 for the mailer and pads noted above. I know that customs charges are problematic but, sorry to say, I cannot lower the value on the customs form below the purchase price.
I always mail in a poly sleeve with the record outside the jacket. If there's an original inner sleeve I also remove the record from that and put it in a plain sleeve for mailing. That way, there are no seam splits on either the jacket or the sleeve due to any handling in the mail. I'm always happy to combine shipping costs for multiple purchases.
