This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a MINT 1974 vinyl LP record of Butterfly Farm from Madder Lake.

Madder Lake were one of the most original bands to emerge on the Australian music scene in the early 1970’s. Butterfly Farm, recorded October 11-17 & 21-24 October 1973, was their second album. It was released April 1974 and achieved gold status.

Band members – Mick Fettes (vocal), Brendon Mason (guitars), Andy Cowan (keyboards, vocals), Jack Kreemers (drums, vocals), Kerry McKenna (bass, vocals)

Mick Fettes’s distinctive vocal style was an important part of Madder Lake’s energetic sound.

The intricate detail of the ‘other world’ art work on the gatefold matte finish cover set this record cover apart from others.

The front and back of the gatefold insert contains colour concert photos of the band members. The inside of the gatefold has a colour photos of the band standing in front of a house along with a few cows and a dog.

With Butterfly Farm on your turntable, you will be singing along and dancing around the room and wondering how such a dynamic and original Aussie band never made it big overseas.

Details / Condition

• This record is from my own collection.
• It has always been kept inside a plastic ‘zip’ record bag and stored vertically in shelving.
• The record has rarely been played.
• Catalogue number Mushroom Records, L35090, 33 1/3 record.
• Record shiny black, no scratches or scuffs, in Mint condition.
• Record labels side 1 mint, side 2 there is a tiny (3mm) piece missing around the spindle hole.
• Deadwax area SMX 43767 18512, SMX 43768 18512-X
• Insert gatefold insert, Mint condition.
• Cover gatefold cover, front and back in mint condition. Inside cover is in mint condition except for a ring mark (10cm long) alongside the spine. The ring mark is an indent in the cardboard only and shows no sign of rubbing.
• Inner sleeve anti static type, in Mint condition

• The record will be packed between 2 sheets of corrugated cardboard and despatched in an Australia Post Padded Bag.
