Description
Up for auction is a nice original pressing of The Mama's & The Papa's album If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears, originally released in the U.K. on RCA Victor (RD-7803) in 1966:
-Guaranteed original First Pressing, not reissue -Original black RCA deep groove labels -Original mono pressing -Deadwax matrix reads: -00854-1K KT
-00855-1K KT -Track B4 writing credits; 'John Phillips' on cover, 'J. & M. Phillips' on label
-Track B6 listed as 'The "In" Crowd' on label -Original laminated cover -Super heavy weight inflexible vinyl
-Original poly-lined inner sleeve -No UPC/bar code on cover
Note: Mono pressings are far superior in audio quality compared to the more common reprocessed stereo versions. And these rare U.K. mono pressings are superior to the American pressings.
Condition: Cover looks beautiful, front lamination still retains its original glossy shine, no ring wear or dulling. Seams are intact, no splits, no chips. Back is bone white clean as it should be. Corners are sharp. Great looking cover and hard to upgrade. Grade: Near Mint (NM)
Vinyl is also very nice, still retains its original glossy shine. No obvious scratches or scuffs, but under a strong light, a few faint superficial hairlines and tiny marks show up, probably from taking the vinyl out of inner sleeve a few times. Labels are clean, with a few light marks around spindle holes. Looks like this record has been played only a couple times previously but handled with care.
Audio Spot Tested:
I've spot tested this record, and when played in the recommended Mono Mode, the overall sound quality is excellent. Has a little light pressing noise on the run-in grooves, but once the music kicks in, it pretty much disappears. Has full-bodied, true mono fidelity. Grade: Excellent (EX)

I remove the records with inner sleeves from the covers prior to packing. I sandwich the record between two pieces of cardboard for padding and protection. I also reinforce the corners of the shipping box to protect the corners of the record jacket from damage.
