Description
PMC1202 An original 4th pressing on the UK Parlophone Label from 1963. The label does not hold the 'Sold In the UK....' blurb which was added to the label design of all copies around 1 year later. Matrix - 1N/1N. Vinyl weight - 170 grams. The record comes housed in an original cover manufactured by Ernest J.Day as did all the early copies of this album.
Vinyl (Ex) Remains nice and shiny and has clearly been well looked after. Under close exaqmination I can see nothing more than a couple of very light marks - nothing that would sound. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Bearing in mind this LP will be 50 years old next year it is remarkable to find original copies in this condition. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and there is very little interference apparent throughout the entire record. It's worth noting that the actual audio quality is top notch too - I'm sure much superior to anything you can find released on compact disc these days.
Cover (VG++) Again has been carefully looked after and has a nice rigid feel to it, unlike so many vintage covers. 'Dave' is written neatly on the reverse and there are some very light marks here and there, but they are pretty minimal. There is some light edgewear in places, but overall the edges are neat and the flipbacks are secure. The Spine is entirely intact. A very decent example of an early original cover.
