An astoundingly near perfect copy of this rare British R&B album. This is a true first pressing on the Red & Black HMV label, complete with KT tax code.

“The debut album by Manfred Mann holds up even better 45 years on than it did in 1964. It's also one of the longest LPs of its era, clocking in at 39 minutes, and there's not a wasted note or a song extended too far among its 14 tracks. The Manfred's never had the reputation that The Rolling Stones enjoyed, which is a shame, because The Five Faces of Manfred Mann is one of the great blues-based British invasion albums; it's a hot, rocking record that benefits from some virtuoso playing as well, and some of the best singing of its era, courtesy of Paul Jones, who blew most of his rivals out of the competition with his magnificently impassioned, soulful performance on "Untie Me," and his simmering, lusty renditions of "Smokestack Lightning" and "Bring It to Jerome.”

GRADING

SLEEVE: EX+++

The sleeve is in unbelievably fantastic condition. The edges are robust and true, the unlaminated backpiece looks to have never been touched by human hands, the laminate is perfect and unmarked. I cannot imagine there being a more perfect copy of this sleeve available anywhere! There are 3 ‘C’ shaped wrinkles to the laminate at the front of the sleeve, these do not constitute damage to the sleeve but are rather manufacturing faults and are the only thing preventing a NM grading.

RECORD: EX+

Absolutely superb. There is a single hairline to side 1 and one shorter hairline to side 2. These can only be seen under bright light. It goes without saying that these are not feelable. The entire record plays as NM!!! You will not find better!!!

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. 
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. 
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
