Description
MAY BLITZ - self titled
An overall very nice condition copy of this highly collectable and much sought after 1970 UK 1st press prog gem with minor blemishes only
Year/Label : 1970 UK VERTIGO swirlLabel number : STEREO VO6360 007
Matrix numbers : 6360007 1Y//1 / 6360007 2Y//1
Stampers : 11 1 / 12 1
Glossy and nice black sheen very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl with the only marks being some non-obvious hairlines and very light paper scuff marks on each side - not obvious when viewed in normal daylight but noticeable when viewed at close hand in a bright light and with the vinyl tilted to the correct angle. There is a single 1.5cm hairline on side 1 which is just (and only just) feelable and does result in some very light rotational clicking towards the end of A1 and during the first third of B2 - background and non-obvious but just noticeable when you listen out for it. Each label is excellent with the only blemishes being a few small and very faint spindle lines adjacent to the centre hole on each label. Very good plus (VG+) condition and very presentable non-laminated original UK outer sleeve with all of the colours, art work, photos and text remaining nicely intact. Each edge remains firm with some intermittent light scuffing on each of the top and bottom edges, each corner remains a nicely defined right angle with a little rubbing on each and there is no fraying on either of the opening edges. There is just the hint of some very mild age discolouration towards the edgesand just a few very light and small age/storage/handling marks. The interior of the gatefold is excellent with no obvious blemishes at all. Overall very good plus (VG+) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, nasty clicks, interference or distortion and background crackle is virtually non-existent. The side 2 sound quality is stunning and is difficult to fault in any way, with great tone and crystal clear sound quality throughout. Side 1 is the same EXCEPT for the already mentioned light background clicking towards the end of A1 and during the first third of A3 (a very fine 1.5cm hairline being the cause), and x4 mild clicks occurring towards the end of A3 for which I can find no obvious cause. Comes with original and excellent condition poly-lined Vertigo Swirl inner sleeve - correctly dated with no seam splits, no edge fraying, some minor age discolouration, and just a little creasing in the corners.
Every track a great listen and a "must" for any serious prog rock vinyl collection.
POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £5 using Royal Mail tracked 48;
for continental Europe £13 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,
and for the rest of the world £19 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
