Description
MEMPHIS MINNIE
DECCA 7084
E-
TITLES:
- Sylvester And His Mule Blues
- When You're Asleep
Without a doubt, Memphis Minnie was the best female blues guitarist to record on a 78. She was one of the top 10 of any gender! Born Minnie Douglas, she was married to Casey Bill Weldon and then Joe McCoy. She was Minnie McCoy throughout most of her recording career which lasted from 1929 till the mid 50's. She was one of the best. This one is from 1935 and has Jimmy Gordon with piano backing.
Record has a couple of very light scuffs and scratches per side. Record has most of its original shine, with a very little bit of wear on the "B" side sunburst Decca label. This one looks and plays E- or better.
