MICHAEL NYMAN and THE ZOO ORCHESTRAMusic For Peter Greenaway's Film A Zed & Two Noughts
1985 UK THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT RECORDS ?(TER 1106) ORIGINAL PRESSING

MATRIX: TER 1106 A1 PAG WHY NOT / TER 1106 B1 PAG timtom
HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL LIGHTLY GLOSSY SLEEVE "Printed and made in Great britain by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd"
Nyman's film-scores make effective use of baroque harmonies - Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Purcell - often in traditional "chain of suspensions" technique, and Phil Glass-like harmonies (Wagnerian thirds mixed with modal scales) combined with obsessive patterns in the British minimalist style to make a sound of his own.
Excellent production by composer David Cunningham

Both surfaces shine like-new with nothing but some superficial brush marks from the inner

Plays as new throughout - fantastic sound - crisp, sharp and fresh - some low-level static surface was noted but I did not clean this copy so this will no doubt disappear after a clean/few spines
