Description
Very hard to find self-titled LP from Miles Of Smiles, issued in 1976 by W.O.W. Records (4102N2). LP is VG, has been cleaned on a high-end VPI machine, and plays very nicely with light noise, mostly evident during softer passages. Cover is G+ with paper loss on each side in a corner, the result of exposure to moisture. 1” split to the top seam. Don’t often sell LPs in this shape – please stay away if you’re particular about condition – but this one’s an acceptable play copy of a scarce and desirable album. Here’s Ken Scott’s endorsement:
“Miles Of Smiles delivers a wonderfully fresh sprightly mix of acoustic jazz, folk and rock featuring irresistible melodies spotlighted by ?ute and acoustic guitar, bursting with joie de vivre. Often soothing and carefree with emphasis on the jazz angle, other times carried along by a Santana—like melding of organ, electric guitar and Latin percussion. To its subject matter ‘Headless Man’ beckons “fella, put on your head, put on your mind of Christ’. The beautiful ballad ‘Life’ closes the album with a meditative blend of soft vocals, guitar, ?ute, piano and vibes against a backdrop of crashing waves.
