MISTER LITTLE WILLIE JOHN LP
Reissue from 1987, on Sing, cat. no. SING 603. His third LP.
Matrix: S 603 A / S 603 B
Nicely done reissue, with replica of the original sleeve and the original sleevenotes.
Still in (opened) shrinkwrap.
Condition: vinyl is in at least excellent condition. Sleeve is in at least excellent condition (I would say higher than that but there is one very small scuff on the bottom edge).
This is from my own collection and has been stored with great care. I will package the album with a protective cardboard stiffener when I send it.

A little bit of history:
Willie John was an early, proto-rock'n'roll artist who emerged in the 1950s. He made the Billboard Top 100 a total of 14 times and a number of the songs he recorded were later covered by acts such as Peggy Lee ("Fever") and even Fleetwood Mac.
In 1966, John was convicted of manslaughter and sent to Washington State Prison for a fatal knifing incident following a show in Seattle. He appealed against his conviction and was released while the case was reconsidered, during which time he recorded what was intended to be his comeback album, but due to contractual wrangles, and the failure of his appeal, it was not released until 2008 (as Nineteen Sixty Six). Little Willie John died in 1968 at Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, Washington. The official cause of death is listed as a heart attack, though some report he died of pneumonia or asphyxiation.
He was signed to King Records his whole career and headlined at New York City's Apollo Theater alongside James Brown many times. James Brown eventually recorded a tribute album to him: Thinking Of Little Willie John... And A Few Other Nice Things.
Little Willie John was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
