Motorhead were the band that, more than any other, united the disparate tribes of metal heads and punks under one gloriously chaotic and distorted banner. No surprise, then, that there's a huge mountain of great cover versions of the British legends by punk bands, 13 of which are collected here with Motorhead themselves and The Damned stylishly battering the latter's early punk single 'Neat Neat Neat' together at the end of the second side. Highlights are many, but Rancid's slippery bass-led rendition of 'Sex & Death', GBH's raucous take on 'Bomber' and Pennywise taking 'Ace of Spades' and - somehow - speeding it up even further are all up there. The perfect gift for the wayward anarcho in your life.
