Description
The Complete Blue Note Recordings of Thelonious Monk, Mosaic Records MR4-101. This was the first release on the now-prestigious Mosaic Records imprint, from 1983. This set is the one that started it all, and shows the dedication Mosaic showed to their products from the very beginning.
This is number 6360 of an edition limited to 7500 albums. Condition of the set overall is excellent, especially considering it's pushing 25 years old. Box is tight and in excellent condition, only traces of minor wear on the cover, the binding is completely intact, only small blemish is slight separation on the back at the middle of the opening in the half holding the records. It appears to have been caused by slight shifting of the records, and is very minor. Booklet is complete and intact, and invaluable! It contains a thorough biography of Monk, a sessionography of the sides, and a complete, career-long discography. Also has complete discography with an index of album numbers and original release dates for this set. Booklet has a small crease with two tiny tears at bottom of back cover. All four records are in immaculate, NM condition, looking never played. A great set for any collector, especially one who, like myself, collects Mosaic sets but doesn't play them. Photo is an example of item for sale, my digital camera isn't good enough to take detailed photos.
No reserve, good luck and please check out my other auctions, including my entire Mosaic collection, which unfortunately I have to part with.
