******************

MTUME UMOJA ENSEMBLE "ALKEBU-LAN - LAND OF THE BLACKS" 2-LP - On Strata East Records, #SES-1972-4 (stereo).  This is the original U.S. double LP pressing - NOT A REISSUE.  Monster spiritual jazz masterpiece recorded August 29, 1971 in Brooklyn N.Y. and featuring Mtume, Carlos Garnett, Leroy Jenkins, Ndugu, Gary Bartz, Stanley Cowell and Buster Williams.  The vinyl is in mostly EX++ to NM condition (beautiful gloss).  There is one scratch mark at beginning of Side C that does not seem to affect play given the loud production of the music.  The gatefold cardboard cover is in VG+/NM- and displays wonderfully with just a hint of ringwear.  NO cut-out marks, and the front cover graphics are particularly striking.
