ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This beautiful and extraordinarily rare LP from RCA Italiana (ML 20205, Italian pressing, plum/silver label, mono, original color inner sleeve included) features two legendary artists, cellist Enerico Mainardi and pianist Carlo Zecchi in a mixed recital program, recorded in the early 1950s.
The exact contents are as follows:
Frédéric Chopin: Cello Sonata in G minor Op. 65
Robert Schumann: Adagio & Allegro in A-flat Major Op. 70
Claude Debussy: Cello Sonata in D minor
The striking cover photo/design was executed by Salaroli-Piludu. The liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket – printed in both Italian and English – were written by Gino Tani.
CONDITION – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is NM-. There is minor bumping and creasing to the lower-right corner, but that is all. There are no bends, seam splits, owners’ markings, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, glossy and highly attractive – overall, a very fine collector's
The condition of the LP is EXCELLENT. There is a ½" tiny scratch in the Adagio of the Schumann that causes 1 tic, that is the only real flaw. Surfaces are not CD silent, but the surface noise is quite minimal. Were it not for the 1 tic in the Schumann it would rate as NM-. Nonetheless, if you must have flawless surfaces, then please do not buy this LP – overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy, and really about as fine a copy as one is like to find nowadays.
