For our 100th Eccentric Soul 45, Numero returnsto our Ohio roots with three replica 45s from theCapsoul universe. Marion Black's timeless two-sider"Who Knows" b/w "Go On Fool" made a few blipsupon its 1970 release, but has taken on a life of itsown soundtracking prestige TV and car commercialsaround the globe and finally going gold after 65years. We discovered Ron Harrington's "BecauseYou're Mine" demo amongst the Capsoul tapes, ademo cut for founder Bill Moss that never escapedgreater Columbus. The mid-tempo harmony joint "ItHappened To Me Again" adorns the flip, with a lo-fifunk backbeat tossed in for good measure. Capsoul'scrown jewel group harmony quartet Johnson, Hawkins,Tatum & Durr cut just two records in their short timetogether, but the quartet's "You Can't Blame Me" hasendured as a classic example of the raw and unhingedsoul sound that Numero is known for. Eccentric Soulfrom the heart of it all.
