Meet The Beatles - Absolute 1st pressing - No credits

Here is a first pressing of the LP that forever changed music history. Surely I do not need to describe the album. We all know what it is. But this one is a first press, with NO credits after song titles on the label. The IAM triangle is clearly in the deadwax. And the sound quality makes one appreciate the fuss about 1st press records, especially evident on this one. Please read on.

At first glance, the disk looks VG. It is well spiced with a galaxy of tiny micro-lines, but NO scratches or scuffs. In spite of the disk surface being filled with ultra light lines, it plays EX with VERY little, almost unaudible surface sound and ONLY between tracks...and even that is VERY light. I challange the buyer of this record to look at it, then play it, then contact me to discuss if this records does or does not play a STRONG VG+. The vocal clarity and bass response cannot be found on anything but a first pressing of this title.

The cover is in VG condition but has no split seams, tape or writing...just realistic wear. The word BEATLES is the lightest tan brown your will see, kinda butterscotch. There is NO George Martin credit on the back lower left. Now, here is an unusual detail. Collectors all know that Capitol factory numbers are as follows: 2, 3 = Scranton - 4 = Jacksonville - 5, 6 & 7 = LA - This cover is a #2. I have never even seen a 2 before. Most of these should be Scranton #3. Maybe this is a first of firsts. Who knows, this could be the first ever made. We have no way of knowing, do we? Anyway, I have my personal 1st and am offering this relic to the Beatles collector who still needs one. I stand behind this one. Buy it and put it away. Not many of these were made.

Capitol Records - T 2047 - mono - 1964

Disk = VG (visually) - EX (play grade)

Cover = VG (no splits tape or writing, top seam near opening is rough, front shows shelfwear, corners are ok but bumped, back is quite clean)

I ship records properly, 'disk out of cover' in a 2 ml poly sleeve and sent in a cardboard LP mailer. Questions are welcomed. Bid with confidence.

VINYL GRADING

M- = a pristine record

EX+ = a near mint record. May have VERY minor marks that can only be seen in bright light and plays with NO surface noise

EX = a well-kept record. May have micro-sleeve lines, perhaps minor marks that do NOT affect play. NM-

VG+ = a nice record. May have superficial marks but plays with MINIMAL surface sound ONLY in quiet passages.

VG = a used record. Has visible marks, light scratches and minor surface noise, but is still a good listening experience.

VG- = a well-used record. Has marks, minor scratches and obvious surface noise, but still plays through with NO skips and is still enjoyable.
