Description
Prestige Bluesville 1031, “No Strain” with Memphis Slim, piano and vocals; Lafayette Thomas, guitar; Wendell Marshall, bass; Harpie Brown, harmonica; from 1961. The original-label DG vinyl is in the original rice-paper sleeve, which is completely intact – a sign that the record has probably not been played more than once or twice. At any rate, it has no marks. The heavy laminated jacket is about like new with a “Preview Copy” stamp on the back. There is no seamwear, corner wear, ringwear, bends, or writing; however, there is a tiny BB hole punched through the center of both record and jacket. Songs are “Darling I Miss You So”, “Lonesome Traveler”, “No Strain”, “Don’t Think You’re Smart”, “Raining the Blues”, “You’re Gonna Need My Help Someday”, “Angel Child”, “Fast and Free”, “My Baby Left Me”, “Lucille”, and “Nice Stuff”. This is one of a set of original Bluesville LPs from several collections brought together for sale this week on eBay. Most are original DG copies in remarkable condition, and many are in the original shrink wrap. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $16.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
