Since EMI also LICENSED this recording to issue in Europe, a lot of sellers/collectors tend to believe this was originally recorded by EMI. Not true. Recorded on site at the La Scala, Milan in September, 1957, this was by far the largest production by the Mercury team. The producer was Wilma Cozart Fine, and as usual, Robert Fine was the engineer. It captures Callas in her prime in most truthful sound.

Cover condition: EX+ (slight ring wear on back)

Stampers: FR1/FR3 dark maroon label pressing
