The Misunderstood were an expatriate Californian band resident in the UK in the late 60s who never made it particularly big but were hugely influential psych/garage trailblazers. They were mainly notable for the furious attack of their guitarist Glenn ‘Fernando’ Campbell whose outstanding slide guitar features heavily on both sides here. They were much lauded by John Peel at the time which is how I came to hear them and buy this single, but they later enjoyed more success having morphed into Juicy Lucy.
This is a genuine classic and an absolute essential for any psych collection.

Using the Record Collector Grading System I would grade this item as Excellent+. I am not a dealer. This record comes from my own collection which I have been selling here on eBay for a few months. Please take a look at my feedback history and you’ll see that previous customers feel I have accurately graded my records in the past.
I can absolutely guarantee that this is an original copy bought by me as a teenager at the time of its original release - probably from Star Records on Holloway Road, North London! It’s not a reproduction.
The record itself has no visible blemishes at all that I can see apart from some minor inaudible smudges in the clear run-out section of the A side. The labels are clean and virtually unmarked, with no writing, pen or pencil marks. It was sold to me with a large centre hole and the pop-out centre fitted here. The playing surface has no visible scratches and looks as good as new. The reproduction quality is about as good as it got from a 1969 vinyl single pressing - it's never going to be CD quality, but pretty good nevertheless. There are no audible scratches or crackles other than the usual surface noise that you'd get with any new vinyl record. The lead in and play out grooves are clean and glitch-free.
It comes with the original Fontana sleeve which as you can see from the picture is clean and in good condition with no writing or pen or pencil marks, and apart from a few minor creases has no other significant marks or tears.
I believe this is as close as you'll get to a mint condition original copy of this very rare single. This record was not a major UK hit so stock copies will be very hard to find.
I'm happy to mail worldwide so if you want a price quote for p&p let me know. Likewise if you have any questions I'm happy to answer. Thanks for looking.
