1st stereo vinyl pressing; 2nd version sleeve (middle finger airbrushed out)

includes a large poster, also airbrushed to mask the offending gesture.

Moby Grape's first album was released in the USA with a large poster, repeating the cover image. The first issue has an image of the band with Don Stevenson ''giving the finger'' on both cover and poster. As this was (belatedly) considered to be obscene, the second issue featured the same images, but with the offending finger airbrushed away. As the majority of first issue albums had the finger poster, at the time of editing it out, the free poster ended making the edited version the rarer version.
THE VINYL IS VG++ UNDER LIGHTS IT SHOWS SOME THIN HAIR LINES AND NO FELT DEEP SCRATCHES.
THE COVER IS IN VG+ SHAPE NO SPLIT, NO LABELS SMALL NAME WRITING OVER THE BAND NAME, HEAVY WEIGHT US CARD. SHOWS VERY LIGHT RING WITH MINOR BUMPING TO EDGES AND CORNERS
NOT A CUT OUT WITH NO PUNCH HOLES OR SLITS
THE SPINE SHOWS IN VG+ SHAPE WITH LIGHT EDGE AND CORNER BUMPING
THE LABELS ARE BRIGHT AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH LIGHT VISIBLE SPINDLE WEAR NOTICEABLE

FINALLY ONE LAST WORD RE HAIRLINES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY NON SEALED RECORD WITHOUT THEM, MANY HAD THEM FROM NEW. MOSTLY THEY ARE A RESULT OF STORAGE AND USE AND USUALLY HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THE SOUND QUALITY. THE SAME GOES FOR BACKGROUND NOISE, UNFORTUNATELY ALL RECORDS WILL HAVE SOME AND THIS VARIES AND REFLECTS THE PRESSING QUALITY.
Most records have production marks where someone touched or moved the vinyl while it was still semi-soft. These marks look like smudges, but are not scratches or "paper scuffs" and do not usually sound. Untouched vinyl from newly-opened records have these marks.

How I Grade Condition Of Discs
Mint
This means I have owned it from new or purchased from a distributors warehouse, basically it means absolutely new shape, never been played or out of its dust cover. In the case of LP's, a North American album will have to be factory sealed (anyone can reseal an album!) Take Note: European and Japaneses albums were never shrink wrapped!
Note: Being mint does not guarantee it's free of pops and clicks, many pressings especially from the US were made with very poor vinyl and in a hurry which means often there are imperfections in the pressing. As a former importer, we were often given back brand new albums due to clicks heard in the playback.
Mint Minus - No such thing, it's either mint or not.
Excellent - A disc is super clean, with no visible marks
Excellent Plus, means it's probably mint but can't be proven by me.
Excellent minus, is a disc that is excellent except it may have some markings that do not show up in the playing
VG - A disc that is STILL in good shape, WILL have some scuffs or scratches, not in excellent shape but well worth owning. VG + and ++,a disc that is that much better than VG.
VG minus, just a smidgen below VG
