Description
The Modern Art of JAzz by Zoot Sims, with Bob Brookmeyer, Milt Hinton, Gus Johnzon and John Williams. This excellent cool jazz album is on the Dawn Records label (catalog no. DLP 1102). It has great valve trombone work by Brookmeyer and some very modern phrasings by Sims. The cover is a great shot of Zoot at the Museum of Modern Art in NY. This was released in 1956.
Vinyl is EX+ (I use the NM grade very sparingly and never use M or M-). It looks brand new except for a couple of tiny and very light scuffs that resemble sleeve marks. Jacket is VG mainly due to a two- or three-inch seam split on the bottom (very common with records of this vintage). The jacket shows some yellowing from age but is still pretty glossy. There is a small glue stain on the back cover; no writing and no ringwear.

Shipping:
Shipping charges for single records are: $5 for media mail, $7 for Priority in the United States. Shipping to Canada is $7.50 for First Class International (FCI). All other international shipping is $15 for FCI. I will also ship items Global Prioity at cost. If you want this option, just let me know after the auction where I am going to send it the record(s) and I will make an invoice. If you want to be able to track the shipment, choose Global Priority. First Class International generally takes 7-10 days for delivery. However, in some cases it can take up to 30 days to some countries, such as Italy and Germany, due to customs delays. Global priority takes 3-5 days for delivery to most countries.
Insurance is optional and available at the bidder’s expense. For U.S. shipments, insurance is $1.65 for $50 or $2.05 for $100. I encourage winning bidders to opt for insurance especially for more valuable items. Without insurance I cannot be responsible for loss or damage during shipping.
I do not charge any fees for handling. All items will be packed with great care using cardboard and sheet styrofoam padding/bubble wrap with the record taken out of the jacket to prevent seam splits during shipping. I ship within one business day of receiving payment.
Winners of multiple items will pay shipping charges at cost, and there is a great savings on per-item shipping cost with multiple wins, so please look at my other auctions ending at roughly the same time.
Other items I have listed at present include a lot of original pressings of cool jazz and modern jazz (on Pacific Jazz, Fantasy, Norgran, Blue Note, Capital, and many other labels).
Payment:
PayPal is preferred payment method. I also accept money orders and cashier’s checks. I will accept personal checks from U.S. accounts only from bidders who have a feedback score of more than 30. Items paid for with personal check will be held 8 business days to allow the check to clear.
If payment is not received within ten days of the end of auction, I reserve the right to terminate the transaction due to non-payment.
