 NARA LEAO: O CANTO LIVRE DE NARA (1965), PHILIPS P 632.748 L, BRAZIL, MONO, 33 1/3, LP

A moody, sensuous album by the muse of Bossa Nova, Nara Leão. It features multi-textured arrangements by the Tamba Trio's Luiz Eca. Eca plays piano throughout, accompanied by Dori Caymmi on guitar, bassist Bebeto, and other early braz-jazz stars. There's plenty of stylistic variety, and a creative, expansive approach to the jazzy, cabaret-based arrangements. The album is in turns playful and sultry, perfectly suited to Leão's vocals, and really a stunner from start to finish.

Great album; highly recommended. Contains the famous song "Carcará", plus now classic compositions by Carlos Lyra, Vinicius de Moraes, Dorival Caymmi, and "Aleluia" by the young Edu Lobo and Ruy Guerra

Rare original Brazil LP. Jacket open on top and bottom, as usual in pressings from this country of this era. Cover has some staining and only few creases (see picture). = E-

There is a small sticker on the label of side 1.

The record has some crackling on tracks 1, 2 and 4 of side 1, on side 2 there is a scuff on track 3 and crackling at the beginning of track 5. Otherwise the record is in a good condition. = VG-

All of my records are carefully packed in sturdy cardboard mailers. I will add two cardboard supports, and the record will be out of sleeve to prevent seam splits.
