NICO FIDENCO
“NICO FIDENCO”
(with Ennio Morricone and Luis Enriquez and his Orchestras among others)
MEGARARE original RCA Victor Records very first “NEW ORTOPHONIC” High Fidelity MONO press released in Chile in 1961 by Corporación De Radio De Chile S.A. (CRC Records), with black/silver RCA Victor labels, with silver “RCA VICTOR” logo and colored dog logo, catalog number CML-2193, with machine etched matrix numbers CML-2193-A LT 11 in Side A and CML-2193-B LT 11 in Side B. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!!
“NICO FIDENCO” was originally released in 1961 in Italy and late the same year we got this great debut album released in Chile, and like in most of the cases of that period, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER, made of a single piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle, so 3 sides are open and kept held for a plastic bag, and single sheets of paper as front and back cover attached to the cardboard in the mouth edge side. In Chile the front cover keeps the original artwork with the evident difference that in this very first Chilean press at the top edge is a red strip with the tracklist written in Spanish and the boxed RCA Records logo and catalog number. Back cover is totally different, it has a black and white photo of Nico Fidenco, a long review about him and his career, instructions about how to take care of the records and tracklist in written in original language (Italian or English), translated to Spanish. In labels the tracklist is in Spanish, translated to original language (English or Italian), with credits for songwriters of each song. In both, back cover and labels, it’s informed the orchestras behind each song, of Luis Enríquez, Armando Trovaioli and Ennio Morricone!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND from Chile, a great album with and UNIQUE COVER!!! WOW!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition, clean, no ring marks, no blemishes, with light wear in the mouth edge and corners, some age browning and a writing in front cover black pen and a brown paper with the number “894” glued in back cover, close to a “X” written over the head of the Nico Fidenco picture. The record is in superb EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with scuffs and light hairlines and some soft little scratches hard to see, which of course don’t affect sound. Labels are in EX- or EX condition both sides, clean and clear, with minimal spindle hole wear, but with papers glued which affect the nice look as you can see in the picture. The sound is in strong VG+ or EX- condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, but with background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile) and soft constant crackles, and in VG- or VG condition the Side B, loud, clear and clean, but with the same constant crackles of the Side A and some hiss and clicks. I’d recommend a deep vacuum cleaning to recover a better sound quality. Overall a 52 years old record like this is, it still keeps a great cover and sure it’s not for audiophiles or Minty minds, but with still a nice glossy look and a still decent and respectable sound quality it’s a MUST FOR NICO FIDENCO LOVERS or Italian ‘60’s beat/pop collectors. And keep in mind the UNIQUE COVER!!! And don’t forget this is a “New Ortophonic Hi-Fi” MONO PRESS!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
PAYMENT
PayPal (send me a message if you offer some other way to pay that we can accept)
Payment must be received within the first 7 seven days after the auction is ended.
If you pay via PayPal and PayPal holds the money (with status “Completed – Funds Not Yet Available” in my PayPal account), I will consider the items paid when funds are available in my PayPal account (this could happen after 21 days buyer paid in accord to PayPal policies). If you don’t want to take the risk to have to wait those 21 days please wait for my invoice and instructions.
SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)
We have an unique value worldwide:
GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)
GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")
GBP7 for one 7” record
All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
In the case PayPal informs me the funds are “PENDING” in my account, the record will be shipped immediately after PayPal releases the payment and funds are available. Please, remember that in my auctions the buyer pays for shipping and if the money isn’t available in my PayPal account I can’t ship the records. I know this could be an inconvenient, but I hope you can understand that PayPal places on hold the money, not me.
FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
In the case PayPal has placed on hold the payment, feedback will be left when buyer has received the record and expressed his/her satisfaction with a possitive feedback.
IMPORTANT TO READ
We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.
If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
The new policy of PayPal to place on hold the payments:
“Your transactions are placed on hold as we are unable to confirm that the items have been shipped. We encourage you to provide tracking numbers for the items you are shipping to protect you as a seller through PayPal’s Seller Protection Policy. This hold is implemented to all eBay sites. This is part of the security measures to help buyers and sellers have successful business transactions.”
“I would like to assure you that this hold placed on your payments is an additional measure taken by eBay and PayPal to protect you as a seller. Both your eBay and PayPal accounts are being reviewed regularly to see how we can further help you maintain successful transactions and good reputation for your seller account.”
THIS NEW POLICY IS AGAINST BUYERS AND SELLERS!!!
Buyers pay for shipping in my auctions, so it’s obvious that if money is placed on hold the seller (me) won’t have that money available to ship the items. What kind of help is that? Buyers deserve respect and I don’t see how to place on hold the payments will help to “maintain successful transactions”… My buyers and me don’t need that kind of help!!! The comments I get prove the quality of the records I sell and the satisfaction of my buyers with the service I give. I hope you can understand that I try to give all the satisfaction possible and records are sent when payments are available in my PayPal account but if PayPal decides to place on hold your payment and the money you pay for shipping, then it’s PayPal the responsible for the extra delay of 21 days, NOT ME.
