Nick Drake Bryter Layter US 1977 Antilles Version VG/NM.
Cover: VG. Overall OK, typical wear of items of this vintage. Ringwear on front and back sleeves, corner bumps, paper fraying at all corners, price sticker residue on front top left area, scuffs on all spines (top, bottom and side/title).But, pretty solid seams having said all of that.Artist & Title very readable on spine.
Disc: Near Mint.
Visually: Near Mint both sides. Under bright light, some fingerprint-y like smudges on outer dead wax/lead-in groove area. Very glossy. Side A : almost flawless, some 3-4 ghostly sleeve removal impressions. Side B: has about 3-4 tiny 1/4 inch non-feelable scratches in one area, some pressing spots/anomalies here and there on this side also. It must be said that under normal light, both sides look brand new.
Audio: Side A -at first needledrop there is the quietest repeating static before each of the first 2 songs("Introduction" and "Hazey Jane 2")begin. I would rate this noise level at 0.25 out of 10 (10 being the worst)and you have to have the volume way up to even hear it. The remainder of the side after "Hazey Jane 2"s introduction is nearly silent in between tracks.
Side B-at first needledrop, low-level static occurs and then disappears just before the beginning of the first song ("Bryter Layter").Afterwards and for the remainder of the side, the noise level in- between tracks is nearly silent. You have to have the volume up to hear a random tick (usually just one at a time)occur in between tracks. I'm going to go ahead for those of you reading and call this Disc Mint. 99% perfection. A superb playing copy.
