Description
This is a vintage rare limited edtion #1106/5000 1949 signed Norman Granz 6 LP 78 record set titled "The Jazz Scene". The songs and artists featured are: Sono - Duke Ellington, Frustration - Duke Ellington

I Want To Be Happy - Lester Young, Picasso - Coleman Hawkins
Introspection - Ralph Burns, The Bloos - George Hawkins

Tanga - Machito , Cherokee - Bud Powell
This is on the Mercury record label. There are many large 12 1/2" x 12" black and white photos of great Jazz artist some on this set and some not. They were take by Gjon Mili. The photos are of: Buddy Rich, Duke, Billy Strayhorn, Neal Hefti, Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Ralph Burns, George Handy, Charlie Parker, Willie Smith, Machito, Max Roach, Bud Powell, Louis Armstron, Roy Eldridge, Dickie Wells, Ella Fitzgerald, Gene Krupa, Teddy Wilson, Benny Goodman, Stan Kenton, Harry Edison, Illinois Jacquet, Oscar Pettiford, Mary Lou Williams, Count Basie, Art Tatum, Sarah Vaughan, Dizzy Gillespie, John Simmons, Billie Holiday.
There is a large fold out drawing by David Stone Martin on the inside front cover. Next to this is the page that is autographed by Norman Granz. Condition of the records are very good with clean labels. All the inner sleeves are in good condition with no splits. All the photos are in great condition. Some of the none photo pages have age yellowed. The David Stone Martin page has a 1/2" tear on the bottom edge close to the binder. The hard cover is very good with a few light spots and one glass ring that isn't very noticeable.
