Disc plays as ex, (except track 4) there are a couple of statics,
Track 4 side 1 has soft repetitive tics
NO repeats No jumps or skips. Well played so some surface marks/hairlines.
Perfectly listenable with NO MAJOR PROBLEMS but not for the purist.
Good strong legible spine, (see photo) though there is some creasing on the sleeve so vg+
Comes in original RED Decca mono sleeve. Argo is a Decca subsidiary.
First press matrix marks ARG-2687-1K & ARG-2688-1K
Side 1 stampers 1 at 9 o'clock and C at 3 o'clock
Side 2 stampers 2D at 9 o'clock and U at 3 o'clock
Single letter stampers are very rare, usually you get 2 or more e.g. HM
Decca (Argo) used a system based on the word "BUCKINGHAM" with each letter
representing around 500 presses. So B = first 1-500 presses, U = 501-1000,
C= 1001-1500 and so on. These figures are approximate depending on the wear suffered
but they illustrate how early this pressing is.
Once you got to M then the next pressing would be BB etc.
As always I play the records in their entirety and NOT guess as to how they sound.
Nm, by this I mean they will play noiselessly with no pops crackles tics etc etc
Records described as ex+ will have absolutely minimal background noise
Records described as ex will have minimal background noise AND no serious problems
like repetitive tics.
Assume that the disc will have minor sleeve withdrawal marks. These will ONLY be mentioned if they<
affect playback.
