Artist: Ocean Colour Scene
Releases: this is a four-single ‘bundle’ representing all of the three 7” vinyl singles released in 1999 -2000 to support the ‘One for The Modern’ Already’ release in the UK on the Island label. A fourth single? Not exactly as the fourth record was not issued commercially, and this was issued as a ‘thank you’ to fans purchasing via their Mail Order services. This super rare mail order ‘freebie’ fourth single was pressed in very limited quantities as a one-sided disk only. This copy of the fourth record is even rarer, as it includes a superb full set of autographs which would look stunning framed! All four vinyls are housed in a rare thin card outer box that was issued via the mail order service alongside the fourth single. All four singles are listed on the outer box, and so what are looking at is the definitive vinyl collection of singles for this classic 1999 album.
Format: 4 x 7” black vinyl single pressings that play at 45 rpm, and including:
1. ‘Profit Peace’, barcode: 7 3145623547 9, release: IS 757/562 354-7
2. ‘So Low’, barcode: 7 31456 25087 8, release: IS759/562 508-7
3. ‘I Am the News’, barcode: 7 31456 27867 4, release: IS 763/562 766-7
4. ‘The Waves’, no barcode, release: WAVE 1
Rarity: this is a classic and complete set of 7” vinyl singles released for the 1999 ‘One for The Modern’ album. Not only that, it has the all-important mailer box to hold all four singles, and not only that, the super rare mail-order single ‘The Waves’ is signed by all four!! Oscar has signed in black felt, whilst Simon, Damon and Steve have signed in a stunning gold gel pen!
Condition: all of these singles have been carefully inspected by me and first three were purchased by me on the day of release in 1999-2000. The super rare mail-order single was shipped out in limited numbers later in 2000. All record vinyl’s and picture sleeves are in a strong excellent condition, with minimal if any handling evidence. Many would grade these far higher! All are glossy, uncreased and look superb. Only tiny wear point on ‘I Am the News’ on the bottom hand corner, and a price label on this record plus ‘Profit in Peace’ are the only things to note. (Profit in Peace’ also comes with an un-used poster). The outer mailer box is excellent condition, and if these ever turn up, they are creased, ripped and generally damaged. Not this one! See the pictures – this box was assembled in 2000 and simply put away for the last twenty-one years! Really excellent mailer box with no rips or tears and minimal creasing and handling. I have played all seven sides through on my Rega 6 deck, and they are play to an excellent standard with minor background noise. Overall grading of this super rare and complete set is graded at a minimum excellent condition.
