For sale is a genuine, second state Beatles Butcher Cover or ‘paste-over’, Yesterday and Today album. The triangle from Ringo’s black turtleneck is clearly visible beneath the trunk slick. [See pic for enhanced image] Jacket is very clean and still fairly white after 50 years. No seam splits, writing or unsightly blemishes to mar the overall appearance front or back. There is a bend in the jacket and an air bubble from the paste-over slick. There’s some wear to spine at top. RIAA symbol on back is a #3 - which tends to be the glue that is easier to peel if you’re so inclined.
Record is a strong VG to VG+ with minor scratches here and there. Original inner sleeve is present as well and has a split at bottom, but of course this auction is more about the LP jacket.
Included with this auction is: A copy of the Capitol Records letter of recall.
A very nice, high resolution reproduction of a Mono Butcher Slick comes with auction.
These would look awesome framed together if you choose not to peel this.
Auction is being started at 19.66 - the year of release - and with No Reserve so that everyone gets a fair chance to own this very desirable Beatles collectible. Guaranteed original butcher cover!
As always, the pictures that you see are of the item that you will win.
