Description

PETER KING, EAST 34th STREET, UK SPOTLITE LP, 1983, BRITISH JAZZ, Nr.MINT VINYL

Peter King – East 34th Street with John Horler, Dave Green and Spike Wells. Peter King (born 11 August 1940) is an English jazz saxophonist, composer, and clarinettist. He was born in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, and taught himself to play the clarinet at the age of 15, quickly switching to alto saxophone. In 1959, at the age of 19, he was booked by Ronnie Scott to perform at the opening of Scott's club in Gerrard Street, London. In the same year he received the "Melody Maker New Star" award. He worked with Johnny Dankworth's orchestra from 1960 to 1961, and went on to work with the big bands of Maynard Ferguson, Tubby Hayes, Harry South, and Stan Tracey, the Brussels Big Band, and the Ray Charles band on a European tour.

Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: near mint (unmarked shiny vinyl, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2: near mint (unmarked shiny vinyl, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Cover (glossy): very good (has a 3cm split on top edge, a bit of small neat writing on back, a few very light small creases).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. Payment strictly by PayPal only. Postal discounts available for multiple purchases - Please email for details.  526 (GS 6.6.6 (526))
