PHILADELPHIA Search & Destroy 1985 Patmos lp SCARCE Xian prog rock metal + inner Shipping Info Description Scarce vintage Christian heavy metal lp: PHILADELPHIA - SEARCH AND DESTROY, released on Patmos Records (of Jackson, MS), PAT-8403, 1985; a possibly oddity or variant, with the jacket slit/sleeve in the top edge, not the right; 8 tracks; includes the original inner sleeve with lyrics on one side and art on the other. "Philadelphia" was a heavier-than-average early Christian metal / prog rock band that formed in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1982. Their lyrics and style were closer to the sounds of mid-1980's metal bands than they were to the contemporary Christian music of the day; the band garnered the scorn of some national religious groups, which found their hard-hitting and direct lyrics to be inappropriately descriptive and judgmental (metal - no remorse!) and are accepted by many metal and prog lovers as close enough to the real thing. This is their second and final release; we are also running their first album on ebay this week, also hard-to-find, called "Tell the Truth" (1984). We are offering a great group of other early and out-of-print Christian metal records this week as well. CONDITION: EX / VERY GOOD+ (the record labels are clean, the vinyl is glossy and like new; the inner sleeve has no splitting and a couple of minimal wrinkles; the jacket has minimal corner rubbing; minimal edge rubbing, corner crease, otherwise clean).
