How rare is this ! A genuine true first pressing of PINK FLOYD'S great MEDDLE album in really EXCELLENT condition. The matrix reads: SHVL 795 A-1U / SHVL 795 B-1U (both stamped), which makes it a true VERY FIRST ORIGINAL PRESSING purchased in the first week of its initial 1971 release!!! A great original 1st PRESS copy of this magnificent album. I doubt if you will find a better original 1st pressing than this one. Please don’t let this one pass you by!!

Very early original thick early 70's British vinyl pressing. That wonderful heavyweight feel and glossy black mirror like sheen. A stunning example of this, THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE UK Harvest 1st press, showing little signs of depreciation. If held under very strong light and if record is tilted 45 degrees, you can pick up a couple of wispy little marks on the first track on side one and just a few very faint hairlines. Though really insignificant here as the overall appearance is quite stunning. The whole lp plays superbly throughout with only very occasional slight crackle, one or two tiny 'tics' and very minimal background noise, mainly between tracks, but generally even in the quieter interludes the channels retain their magnificent clarity and the tones are heard free from any distortion or interference. A lovely gleaming original copy of this great Pink Floyd classic.

Labels: EX+

Original yellow-green Harvest labels are in superb condition with just a small id stamp on the side two label (see pics). At the bottom of the label, it says "Made in GT. Britain". Text around the top edge of the label starts at 10 o'clock and says: The Gramophone Co. Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 8 o'clock and says: Unauthorized public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited. As mentioned above on the side two label there is a small id stamp (see pictures). Otherwise both labels are clean and crisp with only some very faint spindle traces evident under a strong light.

Inner Sleeve: EX+

Original poly-lined Harvest company sleeve with adverts of other records on this iconic British prog rock label.....Superb EX+ condition with only a few very minor creases!!

Gatefold Sleeve: EX

Soundwaves on an ear. Textured inside and out. Heavy SOFT card construction. In the lower right corner, it says "File under POPULAR: Pop Groups, 7110 TPS Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. SHVL 795, Patent No. 1224339". The cover design is by Pink Floyd. Inner sleeve photo by Hipgnosis. This textured sleeve was notorious for heavy wear and tear and many went to rack and ruin. They were extremely fragile and most if not all of these sleeves never escaped  damage. This album sleeve , I am proud to say, is in really excellent overall condition, only has some slight rubbing beginning to show on the spine and a 4mm scuff near the top of the spine. Beautifully decorated album cover with colours ranging from blue/green pastels to orangey brown shades. Artistic talents reign supreme here showing a magnified ear, the front and back covers are truly excellent with only a couple of minute faint little creases. Gatefold opens nice and sharp to reveal a superb black and white photograph of all four members of the group. The open out edges are arrow straight with barely any feathering. There are NO seam splits, NO sticker tears, NO writing, NO heavy creases, NO fading or discolouration of any kind. You will not find a much better ORIGINAL 1ST PRESS textured album sleeve from the early 70’s in such excellent condition.

HERE WE HAVE AN EXCELLENT CONDITION UK HARVEST (SHVL 795 A-1U/B-1U) ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING (November 1971) OF PINK FLOYD'S BREATHTAKING "Meddle" LP - PRESSED ON QUALITY EARLY 70'S BRITISH HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WITH DEEP CUT GROOVES WHICH DELIVER OUTSTANDING AUDIO. THE ORIGINAL FIRST HARVEST LABELS HAVE THE "The Gramophone Co Ltd." RIM TEXT (first issues ONLY!!! on later presses this was replaced by "EMI Records Ltd."), AND THE LP IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL, FIRST ISSUE, FULLY TEXTURED (inside as well as outside), SOFT BACKED THICK AND HEAVY GATEFOLD SLEEVE "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd." FACTORY SEALED ON THE LEFT SIDE EDGE and DATE CODED '7110' (1971 OCTOBER).
THE SET COMES COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL POLY-LINED HARVEST COMPANY INNER SLEEVE (which is now a bit of a rarity in itself)!!

MINT: The record displays barely any signs of use, if any, with no marks or deterioration in sound quality. Extra items and cover are near perfect.

EXCELLENT: Shows only minor signs of being played with very little lessening in sound quality. The Cover and extras will have some light wear and or creasing

VERY GOOD: Has been played many times but has no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Cover and extras will have normal wear and tear but no major defects

GOOD: Has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and any extras may suffer from folding, scuffing, split spine, discoloration etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable and has considerable surface noise and may even jump. Cover and contents will be torn stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly. Covers badly damaged or partly missing

+ or - : Indicates slightly better (+) or slightly lesser (-) condition than main grade

Packing Procedures: All LPs are securely and well packed in top quality material to avoid any unnecessary damage during transit. When posted the records are removed from the cover, if possible, and placed in a PVC outer protective sleeve to prevent sleeve splits in the post. I use brand new mailers, either the envelope style with thick stiffeners to prevent any sleeve bends in transit, or the "cruciform" style that wrap around the LP. I aim to dispatch all items within 48 hours of receiving payment. It is recommended that you choose the insurance option for higher value items. As stated above I cannot be held responsible for any item(s) lost or damaged in the post that are not shipped via insured / registered mail. I always obtain a certificate proof of posting receipt for every item sent, which will complete our transaction.
