Another from my personal collection! This is very rare and sought after limited edition Blue wax issue, Very important points to note! what makes this so desirable is not only the awesome near pristine condition,, but this is not the run of the mill issue by third party companies This is a mono pressing! very rare! Features the Blue black Columbia labels and Garrod & Lofthouse cover which was only released for a very small run in limited qauntaties unique because most reissues on coloured wax are normally only ever found  in stereo only!, these were produced because the original mono that was released in 1968 was only released in very small quantities most people could only dream of being able to find and afford these originals, the mono mix is truly unique and different from the stereo version that was released!  because of the scarcety,rarety and the high cost to find and hear the original mono pressings, these blue wax mono pressings were produced for a limited time only probably to give people a chance to hear the mono version.  The vinyl is the thicker type unlike most reissues seen for sale. This was purchased by me in the late seventies\ early eighties unbeleivably over 28 years ago! This vinyl has never ever been played by me and was stored in a case with the vinyl and cover seperated for protection, this is how I have always stored my records! For any avid Pink Floyd collector this is a true collectors peice you will find it hard to find another copy like this !!

A Saucerful of Secrets is the second album by rock band Pink Floyd, and arguably one of the first progressive rock albums. It was recorded at EMI's Abbey Road Studios, at various dates from August, 1967 to April, 1968. Due to Syd Barrett's declining mental state, this would be the last Pink Floyd album that he would work on!!!.

During its difficult recording sessions, Barrett became increasingly unstable and in January of 1968, David Gilmour was brought in. Barrett was finally removed from the band by early March, leaving this new incarnation of Pink Floyd to finish the album. As a result, A Saucerful of Secrets is the only non-compilation Pink Floyd album on which all five band members appear, with Gilmour appearing on four songs (Let There Be More Light, Corporal Clegg, A Saucerful of Secrets, and See-Saw) and Barrett on three (Remember a Day, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, and Jugband Blues). As well as "Jugband Blues", the album was to include "Vegetable Man," another Syd Barrett song. However, the band believed "Vegetable Man," with its autobiographical lyrics, was unsuitable for inclusion and so it was left off the album. The song was to appear on a single as the b-side to another unreleased track, "Scream Thy Last Scream". Two additional Syd Barrett songs, "In The Beechwoods" and "No Title" were also recorded early in the sessions for the album!!!.

An image of the Living Tribunal from Marvel Comics can be seen in the cover's upper left corner. "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" is the only Pink Floyd song that features all five band members. Keyboardist Rick Wright sings lead or backing vocals on four of the album's seven songs, making this the only Pink Floyd album where Wright's vocal contributions outnumber those of the rest of the band!!.

The album was released that June as both mono (SX 6258) and stereo (SCX 6258) LPs in the UK, where it reached #9 on the charts!!!.

The Vinyl

This is the original Limited edition Blue wax vinyl!, and more importantly the heavy and thicker type of vinyl than later reisues found by third party companies!! ,,,which has deeper grooves and are more robust than later pressings!!

Initial inspection and also when looked at under a strong light I can hardly see a blemish at all!!!! The playing surface looks like new!! Any marks that could possibly be seen would be whispy sleeve removal marks only!!!!! This indeed has retained its original super glossy sheen from new stunning looking blue wax vinyl!!!!!

These feature the BLUE \BLACK EMI\COLUMBIA labels FEATURED IN THE STYLE OF THE ORIGINAL 1969 PRESSINGS The labels are superbe (NO) spidering at all (no) spindleware!  ''The Gramophone co ltd...'' is featiured around the rim also in the style of the original 69 pressings! ''MADE IN GT BRITAIN'' is featured too This is a UK pressing!!(rare to ever find like this indeed!!!

This is features the  GARROD & LOFTHOUSE PRINTED COVER!!!  There is not much to say about this it is as new condition (no) splits ,tares or marks! The vinyl has always been stored seperately from this cover! Unbeleivable to find like this!
