"The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is the debut album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, and the only one made under founding member Syd Barrett's leadership. The album contains whimsical lyrics about space, scarecrows, gnomes, bicycles and fairy tales, along with psychedelic instrumental songs.

THIS IS A REAL ONE-OFF OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A MAGNIFICENT PIECE OF HISTORY, AN INCREDIBLY RARE ICONIC 1ST PRESS PSYCH CLASSIC, ONE OF THE  FIRST 300 TO EVER ROLL OFF THE PRESS AND AS CLOSE TO THE MASTER TAPE AS YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET!!! IMPOSSIBLY RARE TO FIND ONE OF THESE

This psych classic sold barely anything as a Mono UK 1st Press (stereo was the new standard in '67) and had a very, very small run before being reissued on the black and white EMI label. This album is SURELY one of the best of all time. It has to be the best psychedelia I've ever heard. If you've never listened to it before, it's guaranteed to blow your mind!!! It certainly shows just what sort of things are possible with sound. As you probably know, this original Mono Blue & Black Columbia 1967 UK 1st Press is impossibly rare, even more so considering worldwide Pink Floyd collectors have snapped up most of them.

Easily the greatest thing Pink Floyd ever did with every song bar one written by the genius of Syd Barrett, one of music's most notorious acid casualty's. We should be grateful that he wrote this masterpiece, one of THE greatest albums of all time. This original Mono mix is extra special. Mostly mixed by Syd, you've GOT to hear the "Ever So High" bit in Flaming in it's Mono form, it sounds truly incredible with Roger Waters Bass riff covered in echo!!! There's a number of other differences from the stereo version too such as a growling organ at the start of Interstellar Overdrive, and if you listen carefully to the mono mix of "Pow R. Toc H.", you can hear extra vocals such as a stoned Roger Waters howling with laughter!!! Syd was a true, true genius, and this was his genius album (with a little help from his friends of course!). Absolute timeless classic psychedelic rock LP.

Classic UK 1st Press Blue & Black Columbia labels!!! Both sides are FANTASTIC with minimal signs of age, some initials ( H U W) written on the top of side 1 in black, and a small mark where a name label has been removed on side 2 and NO tears whatsoever!!! AWESOME for a 44 year old record!!!

Spectacular Original 1967 UK  1st Press Vinyl!!! It looks OK with NO really excessively nasty marks, just one noticeable scrap ( it does not effect play or sound what-so-ever ) NO deep scratches that ruin playback, and NO viscious scuffs either!!! It just has quite a bit of general age wear such as a few of the usual light, wispy sleeve traces, some feelable but still fairly light and tiny scratches, and a few mild hairlines mostly from where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years. Of course, none of these blemishes interfere with play at all, IT PLAYS AND SOUNDS 100% PERFECT, thanks to the quality deeply pressed 1st issue .Well used and not looked after very well, but still GREAT for a record of this age and rarity!!! And thankfully, it still sounds AWESOME!!! Must grade overall visually at least as Good minus!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Thankfully, it plays 100% PERFECT with fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! In fact  it really sounds GREAT with NO hops, sticks OR skips!!! Only (like pretty much all records) has a touch of low level static in places such as on the run in grooves. A hugely enjoyable listen - The music is TRULY loud and clear with that bass, depth, warmth and clarity you can only get from UK 1st Press vinyl!!! AMAZING for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably as Very Good!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Sleeve :

Original UK 1967 1st press complete with original advertisement inner!!! ( most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! ) This one is NOT too bad at all, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO really bad marks AT ALL, just the initials H.U.W written on the right hand corner of the front cover and still strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has a few signs of ageing, all seams are intact, some minor ageing to the unlaminated back,and what looks like a sticker removal mark, and POSSIBLY (just to be sure!!!) one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!!, but despite ageing, this remains a great sleeve, and still a TRUE rarity to find one as presentable and as strong as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, and it is 100% readable!!! Must grade overall at the least as Good - (Graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Summary : An OUTSTANDING piece of history and a great playing example of this INCREDIBLY RARE classic LP!!! Near IMPOSSIBLE to find one of the first 300 in ANY condition, so don't miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60's/70's music history!!!

I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!).  As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
