PINK FLOYD “UMMAGUMMA”

Up for purchase is Pink Floyd's Ummagumma. Released on Harvest Records, Label No. STBB-388, 1969. This is the original, authentic, first U.S. pressing; this is not a record club album, a reissue or a counterfeit pressing. No Bar Code. Original vinyl editions showed Waters with his first wife, Judy Trim, in the black and white photos inside the gatefold cover. MASTERED BY CAPITOL is stamped in Sides 1 and 3 in the deadwax.
Original, thick cardboard cover; the record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. The sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied and vivid - you cannot expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording.

Ummagumma is the fourth studio album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. It is a double album and was released on 25 October 1969 by Harvest Records in the UK and by Capitol Records internationally. The first disc is a live album that contains part of their normal set list of the time, while the second contains solo compositions by each member of the band recorded as their fourth studio album. The artwork was designed by regular Floyd collaborators Hipgnosis and features a number of pictures of the band combined to give a Droste effect. The album's title supposedly comes from Cambridge slang for sex, commonly used by Pink Floyd friend and occasional roadie, Iain "Emo" Moore, who would say "I'm going back to the house for some ummagumma". According to Moore, he made up the term himself.

The album is in excellent condition - aside from one slightly more pronounced mark on side 3, the LPs look like they were only played but a couple of times. I don't believe this mark will affect the play but thought I should point it out nonetheless. Other than that one, there are just a couple of superficial cosmetic marks, none that will affect play. The vinyl still has all the shine and luster of new, and the labels are clean with no stickers or damage. The album cover is in very good condition, having light shelf wear and ringwear, as well as a couple of small to medium size splits, but no tears or writing. Generic inner sleeves. See photos for details. All of the records I am selling are from either my own personal collection or my brother's, and they have been in storage since the 1980s. If you are interested in buying more than one album, I will gladly discount the second one by at least the $3.00 I would have to pay if it were shipped to a different person, rather than with another LP to the same person. I may be willing to discount further so just message me and ask! We do not charge any handling fees and the shipping cost listed is our best estimate of what the actual shipping cost will be. On fragile items, the shipping cost includes insurance. Sometimes it costs more to ship the item than estimated and the additional cost comes out of our profit.
