PINK FLOYD "WISH YOU WERE HERE" - HARVEST SHVL 814 - UK 1984 NIMBUS SUPERCUT EXCELLENT Label: Harvest – SHVL814, Nimbus Records – SHVL814 Series: Supercut
From my own collection, owned and treasured from new and I will try to give as accurate description as I can. The vinyl is excellent - Bright and Shiny, clean labels and good spine. Plays well and sounds ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The only thing that stops me from grading near mint are 2 faint non-feelable hairlines (on each side), split on very top edge of cover (approx 30mm - see pics) and very light discoloring of sleeve. Plays really well with just a few crackles on lead ins.

IT IS EASILY THE BEST EVER PRESSING YOU ARE LIKELY TO COME ACROSS - A LIMITED EDITION (ABOUT 1000 COPIES WERE PRESSED) AND ARE VIRGIN VINYL BONIFIDE SUPERCUT.
NIMBUS RECORDS HAVE SOMEWHAT LEGENDARY STATUS WIHIN THE AUDIOPHILE CIRCLE FOR THEIR "SUPERCUT" RELEASES, THEY MASTERED EACH FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES, WITH STUNNING DYNAMICS.
Note- At first glance, this could appear as a standard UK issue of this classic album, but no this a rare and excusive SUPERCUT AUDIOPHILE PRESSING mastered and pressed by NIMBUS RECORDS EXCLUSIVELY for readers of HI-FI Magazine PRACTICAL HI FI in the early 1980s. The company NIMBUS mastered each release from the original master tapes using the best available mastering processes and the disks were pressed on the highest quality available. Each album had its own unique sound, thus all are highly sort after and collectable. It offers SUBLIME SOUND that leads you directly into the recording studio - that is what it is intended to do. Readers of these specialist magazines were not casual listeners, far from it. These were often people prepared to spend a Kings ransom in equipment to glean every possible fragment of information from the source. It was apparent there was real bass in the mix and the vocals are simply breathtaking. Also the lack of surface noise, such a shame all records were not pressed to this standard. The difference has to lie in the lack of mass unit production - These were strictly limited pressings and made with upmost care for the discerning listener market. IN FACT WITHIN THE AUDIOPHILE SUPER PRESSING MARKET, THESE ARE AMONGST THE RAREST EVER MADE- AND ARGUABLY THE VERY BEST TOO. To fully appreciate the difference, they are best enjoyed on top quality equipment and few collectors and fans of PINK FLOYD will be disappointed. IT IS ONE OF THE HARDER NIMBUS SUPERCUT ALBUMS TO FIND AND SELDOM SEEN OR OFFERED.
