Description
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here, Harvest, SHVL 814, 12th September 1975 - Rare EMI 'Factory Sample'.
Original & complete 1st UK press of Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here LP. Issued in black shrink wrap with large round album artwork sticker on the front, pinched spine sleeve, printed card inner sleeve, 'diving man' jagged-edged postcard and vinyl LP with mis-credit track 5 labels, with Factory Sample sticker on back.
Matrix numbers: SHVL 814 A-1 / SHVL 814 B-3
Labels: 'Handshake' Labels with 1st press mis-credited track 5 to 'Waters-Gilmour-Wright' which was soon corrected to 'Waters' on all subsequent labels.
Sleeve: 1st Press 'pinched spine' sleeve in black shrink wrap.
Stampers: 2 GAL / 1 LH
Inner: Thick card printed inner with 9" thumb notch and cut corners as per 1st pressings.
Inserts: Thick card 1st version postcard with jagged edges.
CONDITION:
The Disc Visual
NEAR MINT! In good natural light the record exhibits a deep-gloss and clean appearance without scratches or marks. Under strong focused halogen spotlight only a very small amount of sleeve removal hairlines are visible. The disc sits completely flat on the turntable with no warping or dishing. Clean labels without spindle markings. A stunning example.
The Audio
Side One:
Quiet intro and between tracks. Two pops during the introduction to side one with the remainder of the side playing faultlessly, NEAR MINT!
Side Two:
Quiet intro and between tracks. Five light ticks during 'Welcome To The Machine' and one pop at the start of 'Wish You Were Here' with the remainder of the side playing faultlessly, EXCELLENT PLUS! Overall a fantastic listening experience.
The Sleeve
The sleeve is in beautiful condition, glossy clean front with no ring wear, fully readable spine and clean back with sharp edges. Incredible condition for a cover of this age. NEAR MINT!
