Description
PINK FLOYD the piper at the gates of dawn LP (11 tracks).
Original RARE UK album, released in 1967 on the COLUMBIA (blue/black) record label, catalogue number SCX 6157 (Stereo).
Matrix numbers read:
A-side: YAX 3419 – 1 & B-side: YAX 3420 – 1.
The record sleeve is the original laminated front cover with laminated back sleeve flip over edges, and ‘grey’ back printed sleeve.
The top right hand corner of the back sleeve flip over edge reads “File under POPULAR : POP GROUPS”, the bottom right hand corner reads, Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London.
The record sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition, it is solid and complete, with no rips, no tears, no major seem splits, spine has full visible print and there are no major deep sleeve creases.
Record sleeve mainly displays surface wear to the sleeve, owing to age and handling, the front sleeve has some light record sleeve ring wear, and some dulling to the laminate.
Sleeve displays some laminate creases, which follows three quarters of the outline of the record’s outer edge (going clockwise from 12 o’clock). The top right hand corner has been knocked at one time. This is now lightly raised and has left some dense corner laminate creases, and a small 6mms edge split on/along the top corner edge.
The back sleeve has some small faint foxing marks just under the names of the band. There are some light surface scribble type of indents marks, and some light surface print scuffs on and around the black figures/song titles. The top left hand corner flip over edge is lightly miss-shaped (corner knock as described above) and has come partially unstuck from the sleeve.
Record comes complete with the original EMI advertising paper record company inner protective sleeve, which is in EXCELLENT condition clean solid and complete, with no rips, no major tears, no seem splits and no large creases.
The record labels are in NEAR MINT/EXCELLENT condition, with no label damage (tiny label print scuff near the spindle hole on the B-side). The B-side label displays just one (?) purchase tax stamper (T) to the right of the spindle hole. Spindle hole marks show light to moderately played.
Record playing surfaces are VERY GOOD+ in appearance.
The record playing surfaces still retains their full original glossy sheen.
The A-side has five immediately visible small surface scuffmarks and a few which are barely visible (only visible under a strong bright light). The B-side has three immediately visible surface marks, one medium size and two small ones and a few barely visible ultra light surface scuffmarks. There is nothing heavy, and nothing that you can feel, and nothing that affects the playing.
Record play grades EXCELLENT record sound displays no loud crackles, no loud clicks, and does not jump.
The record sound displays some very faint low level background clicks in places when played, however these are minimal and only appear infrequently, and are not consistent throughout play.
