Description
This is a 1st label, 2nd pressing of the Beatles debut LP, identified by the Northern Songs publishing credit on the label for 4 songs. Only 12,000 copies of this edition were ever pressed, this makes it rarer than 1st Label 1st pressing where 25,000 were pressed.
The Matrix Numbers are XEX 421/2-1N and the disc is housed in a period "Use Emitex..." tissue-lined inner sleeve.
I have machine cleaned the disc and listened to it in full. Using the Record Collector Grading System, I have graded it "Very Good" This means:
"The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch."
There is no obvious groove wear; none of the scratches can be felt with a fingertip. It plays with faint crackle between tracks and occasional ticks during quite passages.
Jacket graded "Good": on the back, over half the bottom edge flip-back is missing, but the Ernest J. Day printer credit remains. There is a 12cm split in the top opening edge.
Shipping
I will house the LP in a PVC wallet and ship in a commercial Defenda LP mailer made of corrugated cardboard.
