Description

Thelonious Monk Quintet, featuring Sonny Rollins "Blows for LP" / Prestige PRLP 166, 1954 / Mono, Microgroove / Deadwax: P ["ear"] PRLP 166-A 7E; P ["ear"] PRLP 166-B 7E (all etched) / Deep Groove, Flat Edge, Silver & Blue "Fireworks" Label, "446 W. 50th St." address (labels and sleeve), $3.95 price to rear slick, catalogue listings to PRLP 170. 

A VG-/G+ 1954 Prestige original. The labels are bright but a little rubbed at the grooves. The LP is dulled with hairlines and scuff to both sides. A very listenable play with static, light crackle, occasional repeat ticks, and a handful of light pops. The sleeve is taped at all 3 edges, presumably over splits, light pencil doddle to the front slick, handling and shadow to both sides, darkened at the edges.
