Description

Paul Revere & The Raiders  "Like Long Hair"

This is an original US vinyl pressing on Gardena LP-G-1000  from 1961.    This was their very first album.     It was only issed in Mono.     It's very hard to find and almost impossible to find in near mint condition.

It has their very first charted single " 'Like Long Hair', which reached #38 on 4/17/61.   All songs are rockin' instrumentals with dirty sax.    Two songs have a little vocals on the chorus.

I need to explain how hard to find this record is.    I've been collecting records for 46 years and the last 20 years have been in the Northwest.     This record is from the Northwest and the Raiders were very popular here.     In all of that time I have maybe seen 10 copies of this album.    And every one has been played to death.    To find a near mint copy is unbelieveable.

Overall Condition is : Cover is M- /  Record is M-

The cover is Mint minus with no ring wear, no writing , no corner bumps, no seam wear, and no seam splits.      There is a hint of cover wear in a few tiny spots.      The vinyl looks near mint and it plays near mint.    There are a few super slight marks from going in and out of the paper sleeve.     There are no scuffs or scratches or hair lines.      The labels are clean with no spindle marks.     That's right : NO SPINDLE MARKS.

The songs are : Like Long Hair, All Night Long, Summer Time, Tall Cool One, Wabash Blues, Concert in "F" Sharp, Beatnick Sticks, Swinging Shephard Blues, Groovey, The Last Mile, Road Runner, and Moon Dawg.

About Me :

I started collecting records in 1966.     I started selling in Goldmine in 1985.      I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby.       And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.     My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.

Packaging :

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally.     I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard.     Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard.       Together they are very strong and unbendable.   ( Even the postmen comment on how strong this cardboard is ! )       I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve.     The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.

Postage :  Weight : 1 pound 9 ounces

You have to pay for the postage.     I pre-weigh every record, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges.   There are no handling charges.     This record will weigh 25 ounces ( 1 pound, 9 ounces ) when ready to ship.   US bidders can figure out your own postage costs for US Priority or Media Mail.    All US winners will get shipping through Paypal and an automatic email with the tracking number.      Overseas bidders must use First Class Mail International.    You will get an automatic email with the customs/tracking number.      ( Buyers from Brazil must assume all risks for shipping to their country. )      I will send your record as soon as you pay ( same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM : Monday thru Saturday)   I will combine shipping if you win more than one record.      Please wait for me to send you an invoice for all of your records in one package.

Serious Bidders Only :

Serious bidders only.    If you bid you must be prepared to honor your bid.     I expect payment within three days, but will wait up to seven days, if you contact me.      I no longer accept bids from buyers with more than two strikes against them.
