Description

Disguised as the Blue Moon Melody Boys, Peter Van Steeden and his Orchestra play "If You Want the Rainbow (You Must Have the Rain)" on Champion 15553 (from Gennett 6556).  It's a first-rate hot arrangement with fine trombone, trumpet, violin, and soprano sax solos.  Recorded on August 14, 1928.
On the other side, Howard Jones and his Orchestra play "One Step to Heaven," a peppy arrangement with a good trumpet solo and prominent tuba throughout.  This was released as by the Happiness Orchestra on Gennett 6538.  Recorded on July 24, 1928.
This record is in VV+ condition generally, with a one-inch hairline crack starting at the rim that ticks briefly and unobtrusively (see the last picture).  The "Heaven" side has a few scratches that tick lightly from time to time.  The music is enjoyable nonetheless.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing.  I know how to pack records.
